The Rockstead Chou is a neck knife that is based on the Naginata, a polearm weapon used in feudal Japan. The upswept tip is a big sign of its inspiration. The sharpness of this knife is useful for everyday cutting tasks. Instead of silk string, this knife has beautiful Ironwood handle scales.

Its Shinogizukuri style blade gives it incredible strength and cutting capability. Gradually reducing the angle of the blade from 30˚ (15 per side)  at the handle to 24˚ (12 per side) at the tip, gives the blade a durable edge close to the handle and a thinner edge towards the tip. This gradual change in angle is, Rocksteads opinion, one of the best geometries for cutting.

This blade also features a Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) coating, which gives the blade a beautiful black sheen op top of the already impressive mirror finish. It also protects the blade from corrosion with an incredible hard layer.

It comes with a compact kydex sheath. This allows for carrying a as a neck knife or on the belt when attached to a belt loop or clip.

The YXR7 steel, is a very tough tool steel, which reaches hardness levels of up to 65HRc. The exact hardness of the blade is tested individually and is visible on the certificate accompanying the knife.

The Chou is 120mm in total, 45 of which is the cutting edge. It weighs only 67 grams, making it a very compact and light everyday carry. It comes with a handy kydex sheath with a snug fit.
